St Helena ready for key role in Extreme E racing series

The experienced team at Wilson Ship Management are proud to have been chosen to oversee all aspects of St Helena’s operation ahead of the new Extreme E racing series.

Our team has overseen an extensive multi-million-pound refit, including a 30 years Lloyds special survey and obtaining MCA passenger ship certificate, and she’s now ready to act as a freight and logistics hub for Extreme E, which will see teams of all-electric vehicles race in remote parts of the world.

Sporting a new black and green livery, which includes the Extreme E logo, St Helena has undergone a complete overhaul to improve efficiency and run on low-sulphur marine diesel.

Due to start in April 2021, St Helena will act as floating paddock to transport the championship’s infrastructure and vehicles to the nearest port. Five locations have already been announced – Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Greenland, Brazil and Argentina.

Wilson Ship Management can undertake all aspects of a vessel’s Management including conversion, refurbishment, dry docking or newbuild. From concept to delivery, we are driven to hit deadlines and budgets – fulfilling the client’s needs.
